Prevention and treatment of allergic rhinitis

Allergic rhinitis, also known as allergic rhinitis, occurs at any age, mostly in young and middle-aged people, often family genetic history. Allergic rhinitis with no significant seasonal difference in incidence and perennial attacks is called perennial (or persistent) allergic rhinitis. Only seasonal episodes each year are called seasonal (or intermittent) allergic rhinitis.

The primary factor of allergic rhinitis is allergic constitution, and genetic factors are closely related to the occurrence of allergic rhinitis. Secondly, various factors that cause allergic rhinitis are exposure to allergens. Because the symptoms of allergic rhinitis are related to colds, many patients with allergic rhinitis only take simple cold drugs for treatment, delaying the correct diagnosis and treatment.

The purpose of allergic rhinitis treatment is to prevent, relieve symptoms and reduce the duration of allergic rhinitis. At present, the medical community generally prevents and treats seasonal allergic rhinitis from three aspects:

1. Avoid exposure to allergens.

2. Drug treatment. The mechanism of treatment with different drugs may be different, there are local drugs and systemic drugs. At present, symptomatic drugs for allergic rhinitis can be divided into 5 categories, the specific selection and application measures are as follows:

1, antihistamines: nasal itching, sneezing, runny nose has a good effect, but no effect on nasal congestion; 2, decongestant; 3, anticholinergic drugs; 4, mast cell membrane stabilizer; 5, glucocorticoid: spray treatment effect is better. The combination of glucocorticoids with other anti-allergy drugs is effective.

Allergic rhinitis patients need to pay special attention to the diet:

1. Avoid the following foods:

Beef, caffeinated beverages, chocolate, etc.; Cold drinks, too cold food will reduce immunity, and cause respiratory allergies; Irritating food: such as pepper, mustard, etc., easy to stimulate respiratory mucosa; Specially processed or processed foods; Avoid artificial colors, vanillin, benzaldehyde and other food additives.

2, eat more foods containing vitamin C and vitamin A:

Spinach, cabbage, radish and other vegetables; Ginger, garlic, leek, coriander and other warm food; Glutinous rice, yam, jujube, lotus seed, job\'s seed, brown sugar and longan and other food.
